2024 01 11 - Introduction of Alex: Hi everybody! A short introduction to me, and then I'll say something about my character Jerdehl Nishka. I'm from North Wales. Traveller was my first ttrpg. I'm responsible for "The Thing In The Pit" and Cosmopolite, and for Castrobancla. I also created the rules for Special Forces characters in the Chronicles of Darkness, so I unleashed that upon them, so to speak. After all those years of telling the players that they were never going to be allowed to play ex-SAS, Navy SEALs and all that ... I opened that particular floodgate.
So. Jerdehl Nishka. Pronounced "yehr - DEHL NEESH - ka," you pick her up at Fist. She'd been a member of staff on board a GeDeCo liner. There'd been a few GeDeCo bigwigs, along with their ahem "wives," and she'd been on the ship ever since Strend.
2024 01 12 - From TMO: Bob, you did warn Alex that we're both complete novices at Traveler, right?
Alex, Jerdehl would know that Sultana is a knight. I'm totally making this bit up, but he would be called Sir or Sir Lieutenant. If you're roughly socially equal and on good terms with him, you could call him just Sultana. Calling him by his first name is reserved for family or lovers.
2024 01 12 - From Alex: Thanks for letting me know. Jerdehl is always on the lookout for anything resembling brocade, insignia, decorations, and so on that would indicate elevated rank. Also, she'd have overheard other staff members and people calling him "Sir" or "Sir Lieutenant." The usual honorific is just "Sir," but she's guessing Naval service in his past, so at some point she'll gently coax information about his career and campaigns he was in.
2024 01 12 - From TMO: I don't see anything in FG or the site logs indicating what cargos Sultana shipped. Do you want me to do them again from scratch?Not a problem if so, do you remember how much money you started him with?
2024 01 12 - From BOB: sure, just make your roll on the Spec trading tables, we know the Credits already where accounted for when you purchased. You can roll for what it is and then You and Jerdel can discuss the ideas for selling 1104-341
