Jim Bennett was born in British Columbia, Canada but was raised in the 1950's in Bartow, Florida. His father retired in 1960 and moved to a rural acreage near the Canadian border in Washington State, and then moved the family to Santa Monica, California to allow his son to experience the magic of Los Angeles County for his Grade 11 year. The family finally returned to Canada in 1964 so Jim could graduate his Grade 12 Senior Year in Canada.
In 1979, Jim discovered simulated wargames made by Avalon Hill and within a few months quit his political job in the provincial legislature and opened his first game store where he sold both the 1st edition Dungeons and Dragons AND the "little black books" for what has become known as 'Classic Traveller'. Today, in retirement, Jim owns and operates a small retail board game store in the oceanside retirement community of Parksville on Vancouver Island. It's here that his newest rpg group that is joining this adventure campaign run by "BOB" is based.
