”Having looked into the history of Drinax this is a compilation of what I found I think it is right but we will find out. To start it looks like they are styling themselves off of the old Sindal Empire which is not promising. The old Empire started out with good intentions defending the area from Raiders. But when the Raiders were gone it turned on the area it was to keep safe. To keep hold of there power they used bio weapons, bombing from orbit to keep the other planets inline all very nasty business. But then the empire fell and in its place Drinax step up to take control of the area directly around them. The planet prosper and grow very rich in this time. But they got greedy near the end. They also reverted back to the old ways one example is the bombardment from orbit of Clark with decimation the plant and set there TL back all to keep them inline. Overtaxing the trade between the Imperium and the Aslan caused a massive Aslan invasion and the glassing of their plant. 200 year later and they are skill doing the same with there orbital bombardment and invasion of the plant Asim to take it over cause of a famine on there’s to secure foodstuffs. Let’s hope that the past does not repeat. We will see what the king has to says.”

"My research hasn't been very fruitful. Open source information is limited, and the situation that we are going into needs some serious reconnaissance. Who are the influencers in the Drinaxian court? Do they support the King's initiative? Are they on board with the plan, or do they think the Harrier belongs in the official Drinaxian navy? If there is no-body that wants this ship, why?"

"As near as I have been able to determine, and I did visit the Sindalian Empire Museum on Torpol to discuss a few matters of interest, the Harrier ship may be over 800 years old. It is certainly over 200 years old, and cold-soaked in the depths of space for those 200 years. If Drinax hasn't completely overhauled the hulk, it will need a serious refit before I would be willing to set foot aboard. It will need a crew of capable TL15 technicians just to keep it serviceable, and I have looked far and wide within the Outrim Void, and could not find one TL15 shipyard anywhere. The only place to get this ship overhauled to TL15 standard is within the Imperium. That's my research, for what its worth. Techworld is the next best bet, and it may be able to repair and duplicate parts to TL15, but that would take a trip and some investigation. Personally, the Harrier looks like an albatros. Oh. Also, no Med Bay. Just the Galley table. If that is of any concern to anyone but me."

Silas was excited about everything he had heard and especially the Sindalian Harrier described by Mikhel. Such technology was the province of ranking Imperial Navy or nobility… others might have noticed a brilliant and zealous gleam in his eye while considering such a sophisticated ship. If he could get his hands on those controls!

Silas deferred to Mikhel’s comments on the ship, "800 years old! I’m okay with a torsion wrench and don’t mind getting grease under my nails, but I’m no engineer. There’s bound to be issues in a ship that old. But if we could make it serviceable…" The eye gleamed again. "Techworld?!" Everyone had heard some weird rumour of that world. "I’m game if the crew are. Anything to see that bird fly again."

"Your right a ship that old probably has a lot of quirks unless it’s been majorly overhauled. Tech-World is an option the only TL 15 plants are Theev with has the facilities but is an Amber plant with a 3 pasecs jump to it. The other is Tobia in the imperial 9 jumps away. I am a very competent jdrive engineer and have worked on many of the imperial TL15 ship so should be able to give that section a good look over. As for the kings court if we are not prepared who knows what agendas they have and may try to make us pawns in there games."

"Just a question about the Pioneer what work does it do as a science vessel just that most of my experience is with military ships. Before taking the job I did look up the ship and saw that you guys had done some work for the Emerald Development Council was this helping to develop the area? If so is this some thing we could do for plants in the sector to get them on our side to support Dranix as an alternative to sowing chaos?"

"As best I can determine, and from what I recall of Imperial Navy sweeps through the Outrim Void, Theev is best avoided, if you don't have a lot of rep with pirates. There is tech to be had, it just depends on if you can pay, and keep your ship and your life, afterwards. Perhaps someone knows better, but that is one reason I left the system off my possibilities list. For any questions on what Science can do, that has to go to the Chief Scientist aboard, and Captain. I'm just the bandage dispenser, and not even a licensed "Doctor". As to how the Pioneer could contribute to the plan, I go back to things I've seen and heard of guerrilla conflicts and insurgencies. There are documented cases of individual medical personnel wandering through combat zones, unarmed, assisting villages and farmers with medical needs, unmolested. This happened in areas where armed patrols were attacked and sometimes wiped out. Why was the medic able to wander about alone, when armed patrols couldn't? Because the entire area's population would rise up against the indigenous forces. I'm hoping that is the way to bring Drinax up to benevolent empire status. So, I'm with M. Dawn, if that's the approach for which he's in favour."

"Last I checked I too had very little rep with any pirates and I don’t even own an eye patch or a Tricorne hat. I am just trying to keep our options open and looking for other possibilities like helping out other worlds maybe raise them up and get them back to technological level they were 200 years ago. This might make them more favourable to join the Dranix cause. We see what the King has to say and what his plan is we might have some ideas his not considered too."

"Personally, I'd prefer to accomplish the goal through strengthening the region, rather than by tearing it down. If that is the path the King and his advisory are navigating, perhaps we can help guide them to another. Thank you very much for your researches, too. Every little bit helps. I'm new to the Pioneer as well, so I'm not familiar with its history, but I suppose it's possible they aided a development council to build a region up."
