Asim is an agricultural, nonindustrial, pre-rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks an adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
Asim is a low-tech agricultural world; from orbit, it is brown and dull. On landing, a Traveller discovers it is equally brown and dull. It is likely that a close analysis of the planet's soil would, under magnification, reveal that to be brown and dull too.
As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world. It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces. It is dominated by human sophonts located in the Tlaiowaha Subsector of Trojan Reach Sector.
With approximately 70% of its surface area water Asim has just over 154 million square kilometers of land used for various functions, with agriculture being the primary use case.
History & Background
Named Asimov by the scouting team during the initial surveys of the subsector. The world was part of the Kingdom of Drinax. When an Ihatei fleet invaded Asimov in 885 (and renamed it to Asim), the entire Kingdom was utterly shattered in the subsequent war with the Aslan Hierate. After the Aslan left, the planet was ruled by The Foundation, a group with a 10,000 year plan to rule.
The world was recaptured from The Foundation in 1085 by Drinax in hopes of using it as a breadbasket agricultural world to resolve a famine. The system ships much of its agricultural output to the Kingdom of Drinax.

Information Mikhel collects on 1105-009: Digging deeper into political history, there was a group of human 'truthers' who believed that the Sindalian Empire would rise again and become the Fourth Imperium. That is what their 10,000 year plan was, is? Improbably Mikhel finds current information The Foundation seems to have morphed into a business enterprise. Mikhel cannot find any public information about any accomplishments The Foundation had in their time ruling Asim for 180 years. They were obviously not successful in defending the planet when Drinax invaded 1085 and re-took control. Yet they still seem to be on the fringes of things that happen on Asim.
