Jeet goes through the maintenance logs, checks for any flags. Jeet also checks the wireless datalink specifications for compatability with the ship, and possibly direct hook-up with the simulator. It all looks pretty easy. So, if the robots are brought up to interface levels, they should be able to participate in a simulation, just like any sophont participant with a PDA link. The robots could attend the sim physically, or by remote (and stay in their box).
Jeet hasn't heard anything from Ashe about doing recordings on the ship. Perhaps they need time to create something, before considering how it would be recorded, and what visuals they might need.

Ships Self-Defence and Ground Security
Attachment: Gunner/Sec Bot Trials Video
Please consider a trial or demo for the Gunnery/Security bots, currently in their stored configuration in their shipping container. Should you wish one or both deployed, or on station in the even of an emergency, the bots will take a brief boot-up and situational awareness period that could see the ship vulnerable.
Jeet has including a video of the robots in ship turret simulators, going through a pirate scenario. The robots perform well, and defended the simulator ship by taking out missiles using point defence tactics, and hitting the pirate target with disabling shots. Also, there is a video of the robots participating in a shooting simulator, using a 3D Holographic range. Jeet hopes this gives Cal at least a bit of an idea of the capabilities of the bots.
The purser had been considering adopting an alias for some time, and had spent much time thinking about how he might disguise his Drinaxian heritage. Not that he had anything to hide, it was rather that he may have something to hide in the future. He worried about his mother and her lot, and didn't want to bring disgrace to her or the family name; Kalidaren.
He'd decided that his new name would be Sed Lyre, Purser of the Free & Clear, and that he hailed from Tanith starport, son of merchants. The name was short and flavourful. Yes, he'd buy some new clothes at the next starport and reinvent himself! He might find someone to cut his hair too, and wondered whether Ashe might be able to help with that. They seemed to be talented with fashion and grooming.
Having finished this thought process, and made the decision which he planned to follow through over the coming weeks during this contract, he went off in search of Jeet, to enact the simulations they'd discussed.
Almost like clockwork, Cerabu enters the cargo bay as he has every morning, and every evening before retiring for the night. He wears the same looser fitting garments and carries his staff-cane. Ignoring the noises he believes he hears, he settles in, kneeling on the bare floor and begins to meditate.

Jeet? About that demo. Kalidaren said he's set up some challenging tactics sims. Let's see what your bots do in a virtual sim first. Then we'll talk about a live demo.

Perfect, Captain! That is something I will work on with Kalidaren, and record a few sessions. It will help me with some coding for customization to your ship, as well.
Cal feels old. What was it like to have all that energy? He can't recall.
(To himself) "Let him run. He'll prove out, or not."
1104-361 - 11:00 - Engineering
Cerabu looks through the ship to find Jeet in Engineering. Locating the engineer, “Holograms. What else can you do with them?”
"M. Cerabu, Holograms are what they are. It depends on the audience. If for the visible spectrum, what most living sophonts detect, or most visual range cameras, then the holograms can do a lot. At the Tech Level of the robots, they can project visuals that are nearly indistinguishable from real things."
"I have used the technique to camouflage a robot to be something other than its normal appearance. As long as the robot doesn't do anything that the hologram can't do, like use a third arm that doesn't match the appearance being projected, like if the image is a human figure, then most sophonts or cameras will be fooled. The electronic or heat signature won't match, and any multi-spectral equipment should be able to detect the mis-match of visual image to the heat signature."
"Then, there is size. The robots can project a scene, and some of that scene can have motion, like leaves or animatronic displays. So, something room-sized, or smaller is possible. It is one of the things I have done, project a cluttered cargo bay at a door, and eliminate the robots from the image. Then, they can fire through the image at intruders, using heat signatures."
"Is that the kind of thing you were considering, or do you have some other application?"
Cerabu hmms a non-committal response. “If I gave you a map, topographical, you could project it in the passenger commons, use it for planning and briefing?”
"M. Cerabu, please ask me to do something hard. That is easy. You want it scaled to a tabletop? Do you want it zoom-able and interactive? You only need to provide the details, and I can incorporate them."
“Whole room. Walk through it. Maybe link into sensors, display real-time?”
"It should be easy. However, a walkthrough might be better done in an open space, like the cargo bay. Then, none of the walkers will run into pillars or trip over chairs."
"Good idea." He nods. "These robots. What can they do?"
"They are built and programmed to act as weaponeers. They can operate as turret gunners, with excellent target discrimination and acqisition capabilities. When not in space combat, they can repel boarders and deal with hijackers. They also have the capabilities to protect and defend the ship in port."
"I have outfitted them with holoprojectors to assist in diversions and concealment, as needed. They will actually be part of the walkthrough show, to allow for any moving parts and wrap-around projection."
"With Thebus at the Law Level it is, the bots could be part of a ground team? If extra firepower might be needed."
"Oh. The bots can operate for up to 10 days without external power."
"Hmm. Lasers? Probably won't be needed. Ever do any hunting?"
"The bots are equipped with lethal and non-lethal devices. Besides the lasers, they have stunners. I though it best to have options, in case there were serious penalties for killing intruders, or it was desirable to capture targets. I am not a hunter. The robots exist because I haven't developed any combat skills."
"Nothing wrong keeping your head down." He smiles broadly, but with only a few teeth showing. "On Thebus, there're lions. People travel to there to hunt, prized trophies. Might be the case where we'll be. I was thinking defensive though."
The ape reaches into his outer trenchcoat pocket to produce his datapad. "This is the map I want you to work with. On Thebus, overlay it with active sensor data. The bots might be able to provide on-site recon and intel from ship's sensors. Keep us apprised of any lions coming in. I'll send a file of what I have."
In his mind, Jeet builds up a list of things to check and, if possible, strip from Marduk's Library on arrival:
- Thebus Law Level and any reports of troubles
- Thebus Fauna, stories of Lions
- Thebus Geography and weather. Any anomalies that would affect sensors?
- Any sensationalism or journalism stories about wildlife on Thebus recently (6 Months) reported?
